Clubs at Leschi and Lakewood

Here are some of the clubs and organizations that call Leschi and Lakewood Marinas home:

Footloose Disabled Sailing

Launched in 1991, Footloose Sailing Association (Footloose) is the Northwest’s premiere Sailing program for people of all disabilities, their friends, family, and caregivers. Footloose is dedicated to bringing independence on the water and competence in the sport of sailing to the physically and mentally disabled.

Corinthian Yacht Club

Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle was founded on January 26, 1945. The aim, both now and then, is to provide the very best in yacht racing and cruising for anyone who aspires to experience the best sailing has to offer.  Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle is, and always will be, a true sailor’s club. In it’s first few years, Corinthian Yacht Club’s members met in an unused ice house near the ferry terminal in Leschi, organizing racing on Lake Washington. These were humble beginnings for what would become one of the most decorated racing clubs in North America.

Club Sake

Seattle SAKE is an organization of national and international competitors that promotes the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of the paddle sports to the community at-large. We have a long history as Seattle’s oldest and largest dragon boat club, but have expanded into stand up paddleboard (SUP) and outrigger canoe (OC). Our core membership is very diverse, with paddlers aged 20 to 80+, with fitness and experience levels of all kinds.  All are welcome in Club SAKE.

Conibear Rowing Club

Conibear Rowing Club (CRC) is a competitive masters rowing club for women age 21 and older. Our members have enjoyed the competition and camaraderie of the Seattle rowing community since 1984.  Average age in the club is 52, but ages range from mid-20s to 70+.

CYC Thistle Fleet

The best way to experience the great competition and camaraderie of Thistle racing is come out and try it! Wednesday nights. Many fleet members store their boats at the Leschi Marina north docks on Lake Washington.  The address is near 320 Lake Washington Blvd, just North of the commercial buildings. Stop by any Wednesday evening from mid- April to mid-September around 5 p.m. to meet fleet members or contact us and arrange to crew for one of our teams.  After racing there is almost always food, beverages and banter shared in the parking lot.  See for yourself what a great boat the Thistle is and what a great fleet we have going here in Seattle.
